Design Seeds

In some recent internet perusing, I came across the Design Seeds website.  Each day, a few photos are posted with matching Pantone-esque shades that appear in the photos.  I love how images that wouldn't seem like they'd be beautiful at first glance (e.g., rusted hues below) are in fact stunning... and I think the color palettes that are highlighted are inspirational (can you tell I am thinking about color schemes for rooms in my new house?).  You can subscribe to receive a daily dose of inspiration in your inbox here.  Enjoy!

Pimkie Color Forecast

Is the Pantone Color of the Year just not current enough for you?  Consider checking out the Pimkie Color Forecast, which uses images taken from the "most fashionable" parts of Paris, Milan, and Antwerp, and analyzes the constantly-changing color trends in each city.  The most-represented color each hour is documented on the site and you can see the current color, yesterday's colors (hourly), last week's colors, and the last month's colors.  The site even makes a few suggestions as to purchases you might want to make in the current color.  Below you can check out yesterday's colors, the color of the day for the past week, and the last month's colors.  Looks like shades of salmon and rose are the way to go for a jaunt to Paris!

Pantone Color of the Year - Tangerine Tango

Pantone's Color of 2012 is this vibrant shade of orange called "Tangerine Tango".  Pantone describes the color as a "provocative attention-grabber" and as a "fun, lively take on a traditional autumnal hue."  I can imagine using it in so many ways to decorate our loft, it reminds me of poppies and the fall in New England, but mostly I envision myself wearing it!  A few of my favorite items featuring the Color of 2012 are included below.
