Last week, I was in love with animal prints... and don't get me wrong, I still am.  But today I am instead focused on another obsession of mine - stripes!  Like, polka dots, I love the organized, repeating pattern of stripes and I enjoy wearing them with another pattern (e.g., floral) and I love that they are business-like but give an outfit that little something extra that you can't get when wearing only solids. I also think that many people fear horizontal stripes because they are allegedly not slimming. Give them a try! You might be surprised.

There are so many great options of striped products available right now but these are a few of my favorites:

J.Crew Stripe Blouson Dress in Black (looks great with a bright belt at the waist and perfect for both work with a sweater or jacket and going out)
Halogen Stripe Cardigan from Nordstrom (love this and it also comes in other great colors like a pale blue)
Ruche Out on the Dock Striped Flats
Bloch Gemella Flats
Marc by Marc Jacobs Simone Dress
Calypso Striped Apron Dress (beautiful but a bit pricey)
Kate Spade Striped Jillian Dress
Kate Spade Lido Espadrille Flat
Michael Kors Double Prong Canvas Belt
Splendid Marcel Stripe Bikini
White House Black Market Stripe Panel Skirt
J.Crew Stripe Blouson Dress in Azalea (yes, including this twice because I love the pink and the black!)
Anthropologie Printed Boy Tee (also available in a blue motif)
Christian Louboutin Chus (also available in black stripe with red accents)
J.Crew Perfect Fit Stripe Snap Tee
J.Crew High Tide Tunic Dress in Vintage Linen (also available in navy)
Marimekko Slippers (I'm in the market for new slippers and these really appeal to me)
Marc Jacobs Bella Stripe Silk Dress

Stripes also look great around the house.  Again, they add variety and color in a room otherwise filled with solid-colored objects (e.g., a living room with solid-colored furniture) and they can make a simple table setting look fantastic.

Anthropologie Awning Striped Table Cloth
Kate Spade Sea Cliffs Stripe Accent Plate
Pottery Barn Ceramic Stripe Colander
Pottery Barn Ceramic Stripe Drink Dispenser (this makes me want a huge backyard perfect for a summer BBQ)
Crate & Barrel Striped Ramekin (I envision a delicious summer dessert in these - an individual fruit crumble, perhaps, or a scoop of sorbet)
Dash & Albert Striped Rugs (D&A makes the best rugs that are easy to care for and brighten up any space)
Red Striped Napkins (also available in blue)
Meri Meri Pastel Stripe Bake Cups
Colorful Stripes dish towel
If you are at all skeptical about setting a table with stripes, take a look at these inspiring and beautiful table settings featured below. I wish I were organized enough to use just one or two ideas from one of these images when I am hosting a dinner party... but it seems to be challenging enough for me to get dinner on the table when it is warm and before people are starving!
