This weekend I enjoyed reading a stack of spring fashion magazines, which resulted in me ogling spring trends and wishing that I had an unlimited budget with which I could revamp my wardrobe.  One thing that struck me after reading through Vogue, W and Harper's Bazaar was the prevalence of citrus -- whether in the appearance of actual citrus fruits or just shades of vibrant yellow, lime green and orange.  Regardless of the form, I love it.  The colors make me think of spring... daffodils and tulips, asparagus and spring peas, sunshine and the return of green leaves.  Since I've officially packed away my skis for the season, I am ready for spring (nevermind that we had snow flurries this morning)!

The first place I noticed citrus was in Stella McCartney's Spring 2011 advertising campaign which seems to be in every magazine I pick up these days.  I can't say that I like these pieces, but I do love the bright colors and I'd love to actually see someone wearing one of these pieces (particularly in Denver where Patagonia reigns supreme).

Falabella Fruit Print Small Tote

Is it a bad sign that my husband just peered over my shoulder, saw the Falabella bag and asked me if I was shopping for his Grandmother? I think so.  So while I will not rush out to purchase any of those pieces, they did make me sit up and pay attention to all of the other spring items that have made their way into stores:
