DipJar
Friday, August 24, 2012 at 4:40 PM If I ran a business where tipping was involved, I'd definitely try out DipJar, a technology I read about on the Bon Appetit Blog this week. Everyone seems to pay with a debit or credit card these days, so people are less likely to drop their change or an extra dollar or two into the tip jar as they pay for their coffee or food. Enter the DipJar, which allows customers to swipe their credit and debit card to leave a tip! The owner of the establishment sets a preset tip size (currently $1 at the Manhattan location profiled in Bon Appetit) and all you do is dip your card to thank the people behind the counter.
