Food @ Starbucks

Starbucks must have been reading my mind (and Rob's) - it announced this week that they are planning to buy San Francisco-based Bay Bread and its La Boulange bakery brand for $100 million. Just last week, Rob and I enjoyed a truly delicious breakfast sandwich at Starbucks in the Berlin airport and commented at how bad Starbucks' food is in the U.S. Hopefully this acquisition will dramatically improve the sub-par food at Starbucks. For more information, check out this article on CNN.
Don't get me wrong - I strongly prefer to go to a local coffee shop to get a coffee and a treat, but downtown Denver is seriously lacking a coffee shop with good food. Even at a community meeting we attended a few months ago, the chief comment from residents with regard to dining was that we don't have good breakfast options. Until that changes, I look forward to improvements in Starbucks' food.
