Mappetite

Sunday afternoons are typically a time when I make a few simple dishes for us to take to work for lunch that week.  After the St. Patrick's Day mayhem, this Sunday was blissfully quiet and I cooked and caught up on podcasts.  There is always something interesting to learn and when while listening to the February 5, 2012 episode of the Splendid Table, I heard about Mappetite.

Mappetite has created accordion-style, purse-size guides (with detailed maps) of cities (NYC, San Francisco, and London thus far) that include major landmarks, shops, and restaurants.  The neighborhood pop-out maps provide details about that specific neighborhood - what to see, where to eat, where to shop, and where to walk.  The creators state on the podcast that they have visited all of the restaurants they recommend and the reviews so far are great.  Has anyone used Mappetite?  The guides can be purchased online through the Mappetite website or on Amazon.  Here's hoping they expand to other cities (Berlin? Hong Kong?) soon!
